E-ticketing (ET) is one of the Simplifying the Business initiatives with the most significant opportunities to reduce costs and improve passenger convenience. It reduces ticket processing charges, eliminates the need for paper and allows greater flexibility to the passenger and the travel agent to make changes to the intinerary.
IATA's objective is to have 100 % ET by the end of May 2008 throughout the world. In order to accompany all stakeholders towards this goal, IATA has developed a comprehensive support programme.
