IATA Fuel Efficiency and Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) Regional Workshops – New Dates!

After the success of the first IATA Fuel Efficiency & ETS Regional Workshop in Geneva in June, IATA is organizing more workshops in other regions of the world.

As part of the IATA Green Team initiative, the Regional Workshops (free of charge for IATA member airlines) provide practical guidelines and best practices on airline fuel efficiency management and CO2 savings implementation. The knowledge is based on the expertise gained by the IATA Green Teams since 2005, supporting airlines to save more than 32 million tons of CO2.

The EU ETS Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) will be addressed as well as an effective support to the airline industry.

The next confirmed workshops in 2009 are:

• Beijing, P.R. China: 8-9 September
• Miami, USA: 15-16 September
• Amman, Jordan:  6-7 October
• Johannesburg, South Africa: 22-23 October
• Singapore, Singapore: 26-27 October

Airlines can confirm their participation at any of these workshops or receive more information on how IATA can support fuel efficiency improvement and CO2 emission reduction by  joining the Green Team community.
