Independent Operational Environmental Goals
The Independent Operational Environmental Goals Group (IEOGG) under the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) met at ICAO from 26 to 28 of January 2009.
The group was tasked with identifying environmental goals that improved ATM operations could deliver at the 10 and 20-year milestones from a base year of 2006. The goals are based on aggressive performance improvements across the Gate-to-Gate ATM system.
The IEOGG proposed that the global civil ATM system shall achieve, as an aspirational goal, an average of 95% operational efficiency by 2026.
The final report will be submitted to Working Group 2 of the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) in April 2009.
Air Traffic Management Requirements and Performance Panel
IATA is a member of the Air Traffic Management Requirements & Performance Panel (ATMRPP). The primary focus of this Panel is to deliver the Flight & Flow Information Concept in the 2025 timeframe. Otherwise known as FF-ICE, which will replace the current ICAO Flight Plan form.
The ICAO Global Plan recognises that 'the ATM community's expectations should guide the development of the future ATM system''. IATA believes that the notification and sharing of the airline business trajectory will be the key enabler in this process.
All airlines are invited to actively contribute to this process of developing the Future Flight & Flow information system. The meeting report (pdf) and a Draft FF-ICE document (pdf) are available for reference.
