Global Safety Information Center (GSIC) at the OPC
The GSIC is a new website that will contain safety information from different IATA sources to be shared with airlines. It will be released in early 2010.
Security Information in GSIC
A security component will be added to GSIC in 2010. It will consolidate the current security and facilitation trackers onto one platform and introduce an array of documents, tool-kits as well as security and facilitation updates necessary for airline operations.
Users of this one-stop, interactive center will be able to customize their own desktop views with individually chosen information; conduct queries for all the data sources and update the data provided, thereby reducing the time that is presently taken for airlines and industry partners to find and analyze this information. Access will be carefully controlled for sensitive information.
STEADES Participation Reaches 100 Airlines
Lufthansa is the 100th airline to join STEADES!
STEADES has seen tremendous growth these past years from 41 airlines in 2007 to 100 airlines in 2009. Each additional airline that contributes data to STEADES enables IATA to gain better insight and airlines to gain an improved tool for measuring safety performance.
Airlines use STEADES analyses within their Safety Management Systems to drive their safety committee meetings, anticipate issues at airports of new routes and benchmark their safety performance against others. Participation is free of charge.

ISAGO Audits Update
By the end of October, the total number of ISAGO audits completed for 2009 reached 73. About 45% of these audits were corporate audits, demonstrating the extent of program penetration within the ground handling industry.
In addition, a growing number of regulatory agencies and airport authorities around the world are expressing their formal support to the program. Recently, IATA received letters of support from Transport Canada, Airport Company South Africa (ACSA) and Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department.
ISAGO Registry
By end of September, a total of 20 providers are already on the ISAGO Registry at 20 different locations. Discover the newly redesigned
ISAGO Registry.
ISAGO Pool Welcomes Two New Members
Air France and British Midland Airways (BMI) have recently joined the program, increasing the number of ISAGO Pool members to 38. The Pool consists of 195 ISAGO qualified auditors.
OPC Conclusion
The OPC agreed that ISAGO needs to work on the development and finalization of the IATA Ground Operations Manual.
