IATA’s safety strategy is based on its Six-point Safety Programme, developed in close collaboration with IATA’s member airlines and strategic partners with a focus on areas affecting operational safety like:
The corner stone of our approach to enhancing aviation safety is the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), an internationally recognised programme that is implemented consistently throughout the industry.
Another approach to enhancing safety is the newly implemented IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO). ISAGO was recently initiated and modelled after the successful IOSA programme.
Coming up: the Safety Information Centre
A Safety Information Centre is currently being developed to answer all safety questions. It will offer access to data shared by IATA member airlines and eventually, other sources as well as data from STEADES.
Stay tuned for the new Safety Management Systems (SMS) workshop
The SMS workshop will focus on the simplicity of implementing SMS in an organisation that already uses Quality Management System principles (like IOSA). More information will come soon!
