Amadeus issues the first EMD in an IATA BSP

Amadeus became the first GDS to enable travel agencies to issue IATA standard electronic miscellaneous documents (EMDs). Finnish travel agents can now issue EMDs, marking the first EMDs reported in IATA BSPs and an important step in deploying airlines’ ancillary services within travel agency communities. This represents a major milestone towards the e-services board target of 100% usage of EMDs in IATA’s distribution systems by the end of 2013.
With adoption of the EMD industry standard, the IATA e-services project has a clear strategy to facilitate ancillary revenue growth through all distribution channels. More information on e-services.
