Airside Safety Group (ASG)
The ASG reports to the Ground Handling Council (GHC). It is a multidisciplinary Task Force comprising safety experts from airlines, ground handling companies and aircraft manufacturers.
Scope of Work
This task force focuses on Airside Safety Management and continually reviews and develops the policies, strategies and guidelines as published in the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM) in the following areas:
- Occupational Safety and Health
- Aircraft damage mitigation
- Standard processes and risk management
- Performance management
- Human factors
ASG will analyze results from the Ground Damage Database (GDDB) to provide input to GHC and all its task forces. ASG is also involved in the development of the IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM) by evaluating proposed changes to the IGOM procedures from a safety perspective.
The ASG meets twice per year and membership is open to all IGHC members (IATA members, non-IATA airlines, Ground Service Providers and Airports) as well as IATA's Strategic Partners in the Ramp Services and Airside Safety area of interest.
Through participation in the Task Forces there is the opportunity to influence the ground operations industry. In addition, the Task Forces provide a unique opportunity for industry experts in their field to meet and network with their peers. To participate, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
