Airside Safety Group (ASG)

The ASG Technical Group develops the policies, strategies and guidelines in area of the Management and Safety as published in the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM). The ASG  is also engaged in reviewing Aircraft Damage figures collected by IATA's Ground Damage Database (GDDB) and liaising with other Ground Operations Technical GroupsThe ASG reports to the Ground Operations Group (GOG)The group is the ideal environment in which to discuss airside safety occurrences which happened during ground operations, assessing root causes and developing corrective actions aimed to reduce operational risks.

Composition and Meetings

Participation as a voting member of the ASG is open to IATA member airlines and GHP members only. The number of participants is limited to 20 based on the biennial nomination process. The Technical Group meets twice a year.
