ISAGO Oversight Council (GOC)
The ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations) Oversight Council (GOC) is an entity within the IATA governance that acts as advisor to the Operations Committee (OPC), IATA management and other relevant IATA bodies on all matters that relate to the ISAGO program. It provides recommendations on how to implement those measures in a rational, coordinated and cost-effective structure. The GOC reports to the OPC, which in turn, reports to the Board of Governors of IATA.
Areas of Activity
- Ongoing development of the ISAGO documentation system, that includes the Standards Manual and Program Manual
- Issues that have an impact to the integrity of ISAGO, including quality assurance and external industry factors
- Regulatory and airports authority policies associated with the program
- Policy recommendations to improve ISAGO and aground operational safety
Composition and Meetings
The GOC is open to IATA member airlines and Industry Stakeholders. The number of participants is limited to 20. It is comprised of representatives from 15 IATA member airlines and five elected ground handler representatives that are also members of the IATA Ground Handling Council (IGHC).Regulatory Authorities and Airports are always welcome to participate as observers. Altogether, the GOC has 6 to 12 face to face meetings and calls per year.
