Industry Accounting Working Group

The Industry Accounting Working Group (IAWG) historically provided guidance for IATA member airlines in the form of IATA Airline Accounting Guidelines (AAGs) and more recently in the form of Accounting Flash bulletins (AFs). These AAGs and AFs also serve, as far as practicable, as recommended best practice. The IAWG also monitors prospective accounting standards being developed by major accounting setting bodies such as the International Accounting Standards Board, and liases with them in finalising new standards that might have a significant impact on airlines. The Airline Accounting Guidelines and Accounting Flash bulletins issued to date are available for download in PDF format by registering with the site using the registration link on this page.

The IAWG generally meets twice per year or more depending on relevance and potential impact of current subject matter and emerging issues being reviewed and developed by key accounting standard setting bodies. There are currently 10 Working Group Members and a number of other participants including consultants and observers. For more information on the IAWG, please contact the Secretary to the Working Group at Industry Accounting WG.
