Africa Safety and Security workgroup
In terms of safety and airport infrastructure in Africa, IATA represents the international airline industry in order to promote safe, secure, efficient and economical air transport.
The IATA regional office in Africa manages technical and operational activities for the Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Oceans region. It works very closely with the ICAO Regional Offices in Nairobi and Dakar and maintains working relationships with the African Airline Association ( AFRAA), the African Civil Aviation Commission ( AFCAC), regional services providers and authorities.
Current issues include the Regional Planning, Air Traffic Incident Analysis, CNS/ATM Planning and Implementation, Technical Mission Programmes and GNSS strategy.
