General Approach
MCTF is the only airline volunteer group that gathers and analyses aircraft maintenance cost information under strict confidentiality rules.
MCTF started in 1959 as Production Performance Measurement Working Group (PPM WG)
Once a year, airlines worldwide submit maintenance related information on a standardized toolset - questionnaire to IATA
A report is produced by IATA containing all comprehensive Aircraft Maintenance Cost data
The MCTF is run by its Steering Committee (Airlines, IATA, and Participating Member OEMs)
8 Airlines have seats in the SC (currently chaired by Qantas)
The SC meets twice a year, holds monthly conference calls, organizes the agenda for the Annual Maintenance Cost Conference, creates and approves the Annual Aircraft Maintenance Cost Report
Airframe and engine OEMs are key supporters of the data collection and reporting process. The large airframe OEMs and an engine OEM representative are active participants of the Steering Committee
