Priorities

Safety

• Safety is our top priority.  We support member airlines on critical safety matters before the relevant government regulatory authorities.
• Support all IATA members to attain the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). 
• IOSA is a key tool to move the entire industry to the highest level of safety standards and best practices.

Simplifying the Business

• Promote use of 2D bar-coded boarding pass capability. 
• Promote our Baggage Improvement Program (BIP) throughout the region. 
• Implement IATA e-freight to minimize paper transactions in the movement of air freight.

Security

• Monitor and advise on the regulatory process on security issues dealing with aircraft, airports, and passengers.
• Provide government officials with technical knowledge and access to aviation professionals in order to facilitate the regulatory process.

Financial

IATA offers a range of financial services to the airline industry and associated partners to help contain costs, improve cash flow and maximise revenues.
