IATA New Zealand
The IATA New Zealand office serves as the central point of contact for airlines, travel agents, cargo agents and industry service providers in New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Vanuantu and Solomon Islands on matters pertaining to IATA and the airline industry.
IATA’s New Zealand organization provides advice and support to our members and industry partners in the areas of:
- Civil Aviation regulatory affairs
- Safety, Security and Environment
- Tailored consultancy services covering a range of aviation-related areas
- Industry distribution and financial services (Billing & Settlement Plan (BSP) and Cargo Agents Settlement System (CASS)
- Driving and coordinating industry efficiencies under the Simplifying the Business (StB) programme

Priorities
Safety
- Safety is our top priority. We support member airlines on critical safety matters before the relevant government regulatory authorities.
- Support all IATA members to attain the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
- IOSA is a key tool to move the entire industry to the highest level of safety standards and best practices.
Simplifying the Business
- Promote use of 2D bar-coded boarding pass capability.
- Promote our Baggage Improvement Program (BIP) throughout the region.
- Implement IATA e-freight to minimize paper transactions in the movement of air freight.
Security
- Monitor and advize on the regulatory process on security issues dealing with aircraft, airports and passengers.
- Provide government officials with technical knowledge and access to aviation professionals in order to facilitate the regulatory process.
Financial
IATA offers a range of financial services to the airline industry and associated partners to help contain costs, improve cash flow and maximize revenues.
