IATA's European country and regional offices are focused on responding to the needs of its Member airlines, accredited travel agents and industry partners.
IATA has a considerable presence in Europe; its executive office is based in Geneva and a solid regulatory representation in Brussels. Also present in Brussels is a team dedicated to supporting our members on issues that deal with safety, operations, infrastructure, navigation systems and airports.
IATA's European offices maintain close relations with governments and the institutions of the European Union, paying particular attention to decisions made by European regulators that could potentially impact on IATA member airlines and how they do business.
Current regulatory issue: revision of Regulation (EEC) 95/93 on the allocation of slots at EU airports
- EEC regulation No 95/93 on common rules for the allocation of slots at EU airports, is being considered for revision by the European Commission. IATA and several other organizations representing European airlines oppose this revision, as they are convinced that the introduction of new procedures will have significant disadvantages.
