Latin America and the Caribbean
IATA's regional office based in Miami and the country offices for Latin America and the Caribbean are focused on responding to the needs of its Member airlines accredited travel and cargo agents and industry partners. This includes dealing with issues such as safety, security, facilitation, profitability, cost reduction and distribution, in addition to promoting IATA Priorities.
The regional office maintains close relations with governments, their agencies, ICAO regional offices, LACAC ( Latin America Civil Aviation Commission), airports, air navigation service providers, regional airline associations, to represent the interests of its member airlines.
Regional Priorities
- IATA's fuel action campaign: promote fuel savings solutions with member airlines and CAA's.
- Safety: deliver Partnership for Safety Programme for airlines.
- Cost reduction: achieve savings and cost avoidance in industry taxes, charges and fuel fees.
- Operations: promote fuel savings through airline operational efficiencies, new routes and infrastructure enhancements.
