India's National Civil Aviation Policy

While the draft National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP) moves India in the right direction with its laudable goals in market growth, a reduced regulatory burden and improved ease of doing business; there are concerns—particularly in areas where it adds cost to the industry or where it deviates from well-established global standards. ​IATA DG & CEO Tony Tyler cited the Regional Connectivity Fund levy, the auctioning of traffic rights, and the “hybrid till’ airport management approach as three areas of concerns in India’s draft National Civil Aviation Policy.
