Synchronizing priorities across the EU Parliament, member states and industry partners

On 14 February 2018, Croatia Airlines and IATA organized an aviation day in the European House of Zagreb.

IATA's aviation industry experts and Croatia Airlines hosted the event, with distinguished guests such as Croatian Members of the European Parliament (MEP) Ms. Marijana Petir and Mr. Jozo Radoš, and representatives from Zagreb Airport, the Ministries of Transport, of Environment, and of Internal Affairs, Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, and the national oil company in attendance.

This was an opportunity for the entire aviation community to discuss issues that impact airlines across the EU directly with two key MEPs. For MEP Marijana Petir, "Aviation is a key enabler to connect businesses and people around Europe and the world. In the particular case of Croatia, the air transport industry is a facilitator of economic growth".

The interactive discussion covered several crucial topics for the Croatian industry, allowing participants to openly discuss environmental topics such as the EU emissions trading system (EU ETS) and the implementation of the Carbon Offsetting Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), but also consumer and passenger issues like Passenger Rights, Unruly Passengers, and the Passenger Name Record (PNR) implementation.
