On the agenda - Industry Roadmap to 2050
Aviation has one of the few cross-sectoral long-term climate goals devised and implemented by industry. With the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) developing a UN-backed target, the Summit will provide an opportunity to learn about the extensive work that is ongoing across the industry to enable the aviation sector to play its role in long-term climate action. Solidifying the climate change pathway towards achieving the aviation industry’s 2050 goal is a key priority and the impact of this work on all sectors across the global aviation industry will be far-reaching.
The event will also look at the role of the sector in global economic and social development; sustainable aviation fuels requiring stronger government action with the involvement of traditional oil producers; technology, operations and infrastructure. A series of tailored workshops looking at other aspects of sustainable development of air transport will also be organised: single use plastics, tackling wildlife and human trafficking, noise impacts and others.
