Every three years the International Civil Aviation Organisation convenes an assembly of around 180 ministers of state from governments all around the world. The Assembly elects a Council, and sets the policies and budgets that ICAO will follow for the next three years. More about the ICAO's assembly
ICAO’s decisions are hugely important to the civil aviation industry and to our members. Although industry is not permitted to be a member of ICAO, it is permitted to be an observer, and to offer technical support in the ICAO committees. IATA sits as the representative organization for airlines and can table papers and make interventions on technical points.
