The IATA Payment Methods Working Group (PMWG) acts as an advisor to the Industry Financial Advisory Council (FinAC), other relevant IATA governance bodies and IATA management on all airline payment matters, which are key to airlines’ liquidity, and is open to IATA member airlines only.
The PMWG member airlines have incorporated to their work plan an activity dedicated to sharing their knowledge, expertise and outcomes of the Group's work with a wider airline payment managers audience. Consequently, IATA is glad to announce it has launched the “Payment Methods Working Group – Knowledge Sharing Community”.
Airline contacts are invited to see this document (pdf) that outlines the Community purpose, content overview and registration process for its users’ reference. In order to facilitate the distribution of the payment-related updates, IATA’s periodic e-mail with payment updates will be discontinued and instead posted on the Community site. All of the previously shared documents have been uploaded to this site and moving forward, airline Community users will be notified of any new content being posted.
The onboarded Community participants will find most of the content in the Workspace section of the site, that follows the below categories of materials available so far:
Both PMWG members and IATA trust Airlines will welcome this initiative. Feel free to share the invitation with your colleagues as you assess appropriate and useful. Multiple persons from the same airline can join, especially those involved in payment matters or simply interested by the payment themes.
Joining the Community is free of charge and available to Airlines only. As of mid-July, more than 300 individual contacts across 147 different Airlines were already registered. With time, we aim to also introduce the discussion posts and lively exchanges between PMWG, IATA and airline community members.
PMWG members and IATA are looking forward to welcoming you in the Community.
