Over one hundred delegates from airlines and their IT vendors gathered in the IATA offices in Geneva on 21-22 September for the first edition of the IATA Offers and Orders Forum.
Building on the continuity of the Dynamic Offers Forum, this first edition expanded the agenda scope beyond Dynamic Offers to include the future of Order Management.
Aligned with the Industry Vision of a World of Offers and Orders (pdf), the Forum provided a platform for airlines and their IT vendors to discuss the challenges and to explore together possible pathways towards a successful transition to a world of Offers and Orders only.
The active participation and engagement from both airline and IT vendors made this first edition a great success and brought forth the following key takeaways:
1. The necessity for a mindset shift of the entire value chain, as well as the importance of building the case for change;
2. The need to develop an Industry Supplier Product Catalogue for Interlining, supporting true customer centricity;
3. The development of a robust technology infrastructure to run the new workflows in-line with the aspiration of a world of Offers and Orders, whilst ensuring business continuity.
Based on the participants’ feedback, IATA will organize the next edition* of the Forum on 29-30 March in Geneva.
*The Offers and Orders Forum is a by invitation only event, open to airlines and their IT vendors
