According to a market analysis conducted as part of an ADM reduction effort with an industry group, ADMs cost the airline industry $150 million a year to simply manage the process. It is such an important issue that Airlines are seeking ways to reduce and better manage ADMs as a whole.
Individual airlines who do their part can prevent revenue leakage and see a positive impact on their cash flow. But reducing ADMs requires understanding the reasons why you issue them at first. It also requires identifying relevant trends: Do certain partners receive more? Do you issue greater numbers in specific regions? How many ADMs do you emit? What dollar amounts are we talking about?
To help carriers answer these questions, IATA is pleased to introduce ADM Insight, a suite of analysis tools, now available in all IATA BSP countries*.
The ADM Insight solution, powered by IATA’s Strategic Partner Accelya, gives airlines all the information they need to tackle the root causes of ADM issuance. By identifying and understanding these causes, airlines can have more meaningful conversations with their partner travel agents and other service providers about reducing ADMs, as well as plan to streamline internal processes to reduce related costs.
