Baggage Book

A-Z of baggage processing

This online (wiki-based) publication provides an insight into the key features of baggage operations. It talks through the potential issues that might occur along the processes and suggests ways to overcome them.

In 2012 0.88% of worldwide baggage was mishandled, costing the industry $2.6 billion. (SITA Baggage Report 2013).

IATA is working with the industry to bring this cost significantly down, with initiatives such as the new InBag program launched in 2013. The IATA Baggage Book is a great tool in supporting this initiative and is available as an annual subscription only. Terms of Use apply.
