Managing Green Airports (Classroom, 5 days)

Make your airport ‘greener’ by continuing on the path to sustainable aviation. Concentrate on the management of noise, local air quality, land use planning, water and waste management, biodiversity preservation, community relationship management, major risk prevention and Environment Management System (EMS) implementation.

This course is available at IATA Training Centers, Regional Training Partner locations, and on-demand as in-house training.

Course format

  • This classroom course provides 5 days (35 hours) of instruction delivered by an official IATA Instructor.


  • There are no prerequisites for this course
  • Recommended level is Management and Professional
  • The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 for courses in English or equivalent for other languages.

  • Airport carbon accreditation program (toward carbon neutrality)
  • Energy savings, water and waste management, de-icing, major risk prevention and biodiversity preservation
  • Ground access to airport and seamless intermodal transfers
  • Implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Relationships with local communities and neighbors
  • Communication messages and tools, including handling crisis communications and using new social media

Certificate awarded
