What you will learn

Upon completing this course you will be able to:

  • Update your understanding of sustainable development
  • Address aviation key internal challenges towards sustainability: safety, security, efficiency, capacity and profitability
  • Describe aviation environmental challenges related to climate change, noise and local air quality
  • Define States’ role and industry’s partnership between airlines, airports, air navigation service providers and manufacturers
  • Identify aviation key external benefits in employment, economic and social terms, including specific achievements at local or regional level
  • Develop evaluation and benchmarking methods to put your organization on the sustainability track (Sustainability Management Systems, SMS)
  • Discuss communication messages and tools to strengthen aviation sustainability

Certificate awarded

An IATA Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 70% or higher on all exercises and exams. A special distinction is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 90% or higher.
