Air Traffic Management Working Group (ATM WG)
The ATM WG provides IATA management, other industry groups (e.g. Operations Committee, Flight Operations Group, Regional Coordinating Groups), and industry partners with advice pertaining to ATM positions, priorities, strategies, objectives, and policy implementation related to global ATM efficiency and cost effectiveness. Examples are: promoting ATM modernization and improvements within the framework of the Aviation System Block Upgrades (ASBUs) including best practices for cost benefit analysis (CBA), ATM harmonization and interoperability, developing policies for emerging technologies, developing concepts on financial and operational Incentives and promoting best practices, such as Most Capable Best Served (MCBS).
Composition and Meetings
The ATM WG is open to IATA member airlines and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs). The number of participants is limited to 20 with the following distribution: 5 member airlines, 5 observer airlines, 5 ANSPs, and 5 airline ATC (Air Traffic Control) Charges experts. The group meets twice a year.
