Environment Committee
The Environment Committee (ENCOM) is one of the six IATA Industry Committees. ENCOM advises the Board of Governors, the IATA Director General and other IATA bodies on environmental matters, and acts as the focal point in IATA on environmental issues.
ENCOM is responsible for:
- Monitoring, assessing and responding to environmental developments, policies and regulations of concern to IATA member airlines
- Developing and recommending common industry positions on environmental issues
- Advising and implementing strategies to promote IATA positions, amongst regulatory bodies and stakeholders
Membership is made up of representatives of IATA member airlines, who are appointed by IATA's Director General, with the approval of the Board of Governors.
