What is the difference between e-textbook, textbook and e-learning courses?
Textbook and e-textbook courses require students to study on their own with a book or an e-textbook. Most Textbook and e-textbook courses can be written using our Online Exams with Remote Supervision.
E-learning courses are unsupervised and can be completed entirely online, at your own pace - including online exam and certificate; interactive ebooks are often available. See a list of e-learning courses offered by IATA.
Does IATA have a moral code or ethical policy?
Yes, the IATA Academic Integrity policy defines the principles of academic integrity, the behaviors that are contrary to these principles and the procedures for dealing with violations thereof.

How do I enrol in a self-study course?

What is the enrollment deadline?

I enrolled online, how come I haven't heard back from IATA?
If you have applied online but have not yet received the study materials within three weeks, please Contact Us and we will investigate the matter. Please note that it is quite possible there was a problem with your payment or mailing address. Please include the confirmation number that you received upon submitting your online enrollment form.
When and how can I access/obtain my course materials?

How long is the validity period for my course enrollment?
Please consult the specific course page to confirm its validity period.
I am not going to take the next available exam after enrolment. How do I know whether or not my book is the right edition for the future exam sessions?
You can check the applicable course edition for the next two exam sessions.
Is my e-textbook pdf file compatible with iPad, Kindle, and other electronic reading devices?
Yes, your e-textbook is compatible with those products.
What are the acceptable methods of payment?
The individual student enrolment can be paid by credit card or bank transfer.
Can I pay by installment?
No, payment must be made in full, as per the IATA Training Self-study Course Enrollment Guide.
Can I request for a refund?
No. According to our Terms and Conditions, a full or partial refund of enrollment fees is not possible at any time.
My address has changed. How can I communicate my new address to IATA Training?
If you have changed your address, please update your address on your student account.
Will my course materials be sent to my new address if I change the address on my student account after the order is placed?
No. Changes to your address will only be accepted / effective for orders placed after the address change. The study materials purchased before the address change will NOT be delivered to your new address. It is your responsibility to manage to obtain the materials delivered to your old address.

When and where can I take unsupervised e-learning exams?
You can take your unsupervised e-learning exam at any point during your validity period, anywhere in the world with a stable internet connection. For more information, please visit our general information exam page.
What is the exam schedule?

What are online exams with remote supervision?
These exams provide our students with the opportunity to write their exams, from virtually anywhere in the world, on a personal computer in a remotely supervised environment. Please check the system requirements and read the user guide before booking your exam.
When are online exams with remote supervision available?
Remotely supervised exams are available during the week preceding the worldwide exam week in March, June, September and December. For example, online exams with remote supervision will take place during the last week of February for the March exam session.
Can I only take an IATA Exam without purchasing a course?
No, our self-study courses are sold as packages, they include study materials or access to learning platforms and an exam.
Can I change my examination session?
You can change your registered exam session to a later date within the enrolment period, as long as it is done before the exam registration deadline. Under no circumstance will any excuse (including medical, professional, and legal excuses) be accepted once the deadline has passed.
Can I take a practice exam to prepare myself for the final examination?
Online practice exams are available for the following courses:
- Air Transport Fundamentals
- Aviation Safety Fundamentals
- Cargo Introductory Course
- Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) Category 3
- Foundation in Travel and Tourism
- Human Factors and Safety Management Fundamentals
- MICE Management course
- Tour Production course
- Travel Operations Management
If you are enrolled in one of these courses, you will be able to access the corresponding practice exam for an unlimited number of times through your User Account until course completion or course expiry (whichever comes first).
How can I test my equipment before my online exam with remote supervision?

I am facing technical issues during my OERS exam. What should I do?

How will my grade be calculated?
IATA has a Grading Policy that describes the grading elements, grading scales, attendance, participation and grading criteria for student work.
I have passed my IATA exam. When will I receive my diploma/certificate?
The diploma/certificate will be available shortly after the student has taken the exam. The student will receive a notification.
Exams for eLearning courses are taken online and the certificate is available from your IATA Training Student Account. No additional certificates are provided.
What are my options if I have exhausted my available exam attempts without passing the exam?
IATA does not offer additional exam attempts. If you do not pass your exam with the given attempts, you will need to purchase the complete course again.
How can I get my exam results?
Our system will send you your exam result by email by the exam result release date. You will also be able to see it in your online student account.
I failed my first exam attempt. How and when will I be registered for the second exam attempt?
If you wish to take your second exam attempt, you are required to register through your online student account no later than the registration deadline for the exam session you wish to attend. Please be sure to register for your second exam attempt before the enrollment period expires.
How can I check that my Certificate is genuine?
You can check the authenticity of your IATA Training Certificates with our online validation: Validate an IATA Training Certificate or Validate an IATA Accredited Training School (ATS) Certificate.
Can I obtain a letter of attestation?
Yes, you can obtain a letter of attestation for a course you completed in the last five years.
Please provide the following details with your request:
- Your full name
- Student ID
- Course name and edition
- Date of the exam you attended
How can I apply for an IATA Diploma?
If you have completed all the required courses for a self-study diploma program within the allowed time frame, you can apply for the diploma by completing the Contact Us Form. In the form, please attach copies of all the course certificates and provide your full name, the title of the diploma you are applying for, your complete mailing address as well as your contact number. The IATA Training team will validate your eligibility and issue you the diploma.
Can I obtain a duplicate diploma?
Yes, you can obtain a duplicate copy of your diploma if you are a graduate from the last five years.
