IATA Technical Fuel Document Library (TFDL)
Fuel is a critical safety and cost factor for operations within an airline. Jet fuel specifications are designed to ensure safe aircraft operation. IATA fuel servicing guidance materials is a set of best practices and standards developed in collaboration with fuel industry experts to enhance safety in critical fueling tasks from the refinery process through the delivery of fuel into-plane. They cover the areas of fuel specifications, sustainable aviation fuel, fuel quality standards, refueling procedures, supply-chain quality, aircraft fuel system design, fuel system maintenance.
This material, developed by the -International Civil Jet Fuel Specification Liaison Group (ISLG) describes characteristics of Jet fuels specifications. It provides key recommendations for the handling of fuel, and training for airlines, fuel service providers and OEMs. In addition, it provides insights into fuels composition, physical and chemical properties, and addresses the issues of additives and cleanliness in fuel handling.
