The IATA TrackZero platform helps track the airline industry’s progress toward Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 based on the industry-approved IATA Net Zero Tracking Methodology. It provides a clear data collection framework for airlines to report on their net zero transition, while offering numerous benefits such as benchmarking on key sustainability metrics.

The platform produces 3 main outputs:

  1. Industry-wide Net Zero Progress Report
  2. Benchmarking Report
  3. Standardized, airline-specific Net Zero Report

IATA TrackZero is available free-of-charge to all aircraft operators as a module under the EcoHub, along with CORSIA Center and CO2 Connect. The EcoHub platform safeguards environmental data and enables interoperability between different modules. Users can import data between modules, decreasing the administrative burden on the airlines.

The IATA TrackZero Module is now available via the IATA EcoHub platform. We welcome you to be an early adopter of TrackZero to contribute to the accurate tracking of the industry’s progress toward the net zero carbon tailpipe emissions target.

Key Functionalities

  • Collection of airlines’ environmental sustainability data in the secure EcoHub platform
  • Reporting on industry’s progress toward net zero carbon emissions by 2050 by generating a yearly industry-wide Net Zero Tracking Progress Report
  • Confidential airline-specific TrackZero reports, based on a standardized template, that IATA will not make public but that airlines can publicly disclose if desired
  • Anonymized benchmarking against other airlines on relevant performance metrics
  • Different data input options available to consider the varying reporting capabilities
  • Interoperability with other EcoHub modules allows for efficient and smooth data reporting
  • Enhanced validation features to help ensure the best possible data accuracy

Main Outputs

Industry-Wide:

  • Net Zero Progress Report – the industry report will be released annually, helping to inform the industry and its stakeholders on the industry’s progress toward decarbonization,

Airline-Specific (to be made available in Release 1.0, by November):

  • Benchmarking Report – to compare progress on the key performance metrics such as fuel efficiency, carbon intensity, and SAF share. The anonymous benchmarking and ranking can also be filtered by region and fleet type.
  • Net Zero Report to report on their individual progress in a standardized way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find out more about TrackZero and how it works.

General

IATA TrackZero is a platform developed to track the industry’s progress toward Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. By contributing data, airlines receive a net zero report with standardized metrics that meet the needs of their various stakeholders. Additionally, airlines can better understand their progress toward net zero on specific metrics in comparison to other airlines through the anonymous benchmarking feature.

IATA TrackZero is available for all aircraft operators irrespective of IATA membership, size, or type of operations.

On Data Submissions & Analytics

Yes, IATA TrackZero accepts manual and automated inputs, or a combination of the two.

Yes, automatic data checks on all information entering the system will be conducted.

User Management & Data Security

Yes, each account within IATA TrackZero can be assigned multiple users with customizable access rights.

IATA TrackZero is developed upon internationally-recognized and best-in-class data management and security standards. Regular data security and processing integrity audits of the system are performed.
