Spring 2021 witnessed the official release of IATA Pay with Emirates becoming its launch customer and branding it Emirates Pay.
Muhammad Albakri, IATA’s Senior Vice President, Financial Settlement and Distribution Services, says that “aviation is a customer-centric industry so IATA Pay wouldn’t work unless the consumer benefitted”.
Meanwhile, Michael Doersam, Emirates Group Chief Financial Officer, believes that the challenges of being the launch customer were more than justified by the ability to help influence the product design.
