IATA announced April 28 that its rescheduled 76th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 23-24 November 2020.
The event, hosted by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, will take place at the RAI Convention Centre. The dates were selected in anticipation that government restrictions on travel will have been lifted and that the public health authorities in the Netherlands will permit large gatherings at that time. IATA will work with public health authorities to ensure that all precautions are taken for the meeting to be held safely.
A direct consequence of this decision is the postponement of the 3rd edition of 'Wings of Change Europe', the Region’s premier aero political event, scheduled in Paris, November 17-18, hosted by Air France (also part of the Air France-KLM group).
“Over the years, 'Wings of Change' has become an extremely successful platform for all industry stakeholders to gather, discuss, and debate positive changes for our industry, shaping together a financially and environmentally sustainable future for aviation. We look forward to reorganizing this 3rd European edition as soon as the conditions allow us to. As our industry will have to reinvent itself, never will the name ‘Wings of Change’ be more appropriate, nor such a conference be more important,” said Rafael Schvartzman, IATA’s Regional Vice President for Europe.
We will communicate new dates and information regarding the 3rd edition of 'Wings of Change Europe' in due time.
We would also like to take the opportunity to thank our speakers, sponsors, delegates and all our stakeholders for their continuous support, trust and confidence in IATA’s leadership and vision for the industry, particularly in such challenging times. #WeAreAviation #StayStrong
