Ireland has a deep reliance on air connectivity for its economy and social prosperity. More than 128,000 jobs and over EUR17 billion for the Irish economy is supported by aviation.
Ireland has the opportunity to protect and enhance the benefits of its aviation connectivity through targeted policy support, including for its key hub airport in Dublin, and for Sustainable Aviation Fuels to power the industry’s net zero CO2 future. In addition, in the second half of 2026 Ireland will be taking over the Presidency of the European Union. We hope Ireland will use its influence to pursue an agenda for a more competitive European aviation sector.
