Tod Smith is Assistant Vice President of Cargo Development at the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. He brings more than 30 years of experience across passenger and cargo operations, freight forwarding, and digital distribution. His career spans multiple U.S. markets including the Southeast, Midwest and Northeast, where he has held leadership roles in commercial and operational functions.

Calvin Jin is Regional Director of Air Cargo Market Analysis at Boeing. He oversees global air cargo market monitoring and leads the World Air Cargo Forecast. He also supports cargo marketing and sales efforts across the Americas, Northeast Asia, Central Asia and Türkiye. Before Boeing, he worked in inbound supply chain analytics at Amazon. Calvin holds a dual BA from Brown University.

Michael Couch joined Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) in April 2025 as Senior Manager, Cargo, where he leads the air cargo strategy for Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). His mandate includes airline and stakeholder engagement, international market development, and advancing sustainable growth across HIAA’s cargo network. Michael works closely with seafood exporters, freight forwarders, and airline partners to position YHZ as Atlantic Canada’s leading air cargo gateway for high-value, time-sensitive exports, particularly live lobster and other seafood.

With more than a decade of experience spanning international trade and investment attraction, logistics, aerospace, and economic development, Michael has held senior roles with the Province of Alberta and the State of Nevada, as well as leadership positions in Japan supporting foreign direct investment and cross-border technology commercialization. His global perspective and data-driven approach inform his work across multiple sectors and geographies.

More recently, Michael has led cargo market assessments across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, applying trade and cargo intelligence to identify leakage, quantify lost market share, and support evidence-based discussions with carriers and industry stakeholders. These insights have helped shape route development strategies, strengthen exporter engagement, and guide infrastructure planning at YHZ, including the expansion of the Air Cargo Logistics Park (ACLP) and the International Connections Facility (ICF).

Philippe Siponen is Senior Product Manager for CargoIS at the International Air Transport Association (IATA). He leads product development and strategy for IATA’s cargo intelligence portfolio, with experience spanning data solutions, market analysis and industry partnerships. He has held several roles within IATA and brings a strong background in product operations and service delivery.

John Meisterl is a seasoned economist with extensive expertise in air transport economics, industrial organization, macroeconomic trends, and public policy. His career spans academia, regulatory advisory, and international economic research, with a strong focus on the aviation sector.

John has taught econometric theory and modeling as an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and has led advanced projects in data mining, econometric modeling, and market competition as Senior Adviser at Colombia’s Telecommunications Regulator. He has played a key role in shaping regulatory strategies and contributing to regional economic policy discussions.

John’s aviation journey began at IATA’s Colombia Local Office, where he provided economic and industry analysis to support advocacy efforts, including initiatives on aviation fuel, carbon markets, and the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Since 2023, he has focused on economic appraisal, macroeconomic analysis, and airline economics with an emphasis on the Americas. Over the past year, John has been at the forefront of air cargo developments and market trends worldwide, delivering actionable insights and supporting a data-driven understanding of the global air cargo landscape.
