Sustainability: Achieving 5% carbon reduction by 2030
Two major global events have provided the context for aviation’s decarbonization efforts. In late December 2023 in Dubai, the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) agreed to "transition away from fossil fuels in energy systems.” UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Simon Stiell said that while “we didn’t turn the page on the fossil fuel era in Dubai, this outcome is the beginning of the end.”
