IATA concluded two Air Cargo Day events in September, bringing together stakeholders in Thailand and the Republic of Korea to discuss the trends, technologies, and standards shaping air cargo’s future. The events provided a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across the air cargo value chain.
Thailand: Digitalization and Dangerous Goods Compliance
Held in Bangkok, Thailand Air Cargo Day 2026 welcomed approximately 100 participants for discussions on market developments, e-commerce growth, future cargo technologies, digitalization and automation of cargo operations, and ONE Record adoption.
Held alongside the event, the DG AutoCheck Forum attracted approximately 90 participants and focused on end-to-end digitalization of dangerous goods processes, including DG AutoCheck developments, API integration, industry alignment, and implementation experiences.

Korea: Innovation, Sustainability and Emerging Technologies
In Seoul, Korea Air Cargo Day 2026 drew approximately 200 participants, reflecting strong interest in innovation and digital transformation. The programme featured insights on global air cargo trends, e-commerce, sustainability, cargo digitalization and automation, DG Digital, and emerging technologies reshaping the sector.

Key Discussion Themes
- Air cargo market and capacity developments
- E-commerce trends and their impact on airlines
- Digital transformation, ONE Record adoption and smart cargo facilities
- Special cargo regulatory updates, CEIV programmes, and cargo handling standards
Strengthening Industry Connections
Across both events, stakeholders exchanged perspectives, shared best practices, and explored practical solutions to operational and regulatory challenges. The discussions highlighted the value of global standards, local engagement, and cross-industry collaboration in building a safer, smarter, and more sustainable air cargo ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
Building on the momentum from Thailand and Korea, IATA is exploring opportunities to host another Air Cargo Day in Bangladesh and expand the programme to more Asia-Pacific markets next year.
