Cebu Pacific Air and IndiGo Join IATA

The number of IATA members in Asia-Pacific continues to grow with Cebu Pacific Air and IndiGo being admitted into the Association in October.

“We are delighted to welcome Cebu Pacific Air and IndiGo to the IATA family. Our over 290 member airlines connect people, deliver goods, link economies, spearhead development and enrich our societies. That’s why aviation is the business of freedom,” said Conrad Clifford, IATA’s Regional Vice President Asia Pacific. “The diversity of airlines that are IATA members continues to grow. Today about 20% of our members globally are low cost carriers and we are welcoming more to join.”

“We look forward to working together with the Cebu Pacific Air and IndiGo teams to help shape industry standards, best practices, and policies along with all member airlines to ensure the safe, efficient and sustainable growth of aviation in the region,” said Clifford.

A total of four Asia-Pacific airlines have joined IATA to date in 2019, with the other two being SpiceJet and Thai Smile. This brings the total number of member airlines in Asia-Pacific to 45.
