Incheon International Airport community achieves CEIV Lithium Batteries

Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) is the first airport community globally to receive the IATA CEIV Lithium Batteries certification for the safe transport and handling of lithium battery products. This also makes IIAC the first airport community that holds the complete suite of CEIV certifications: for pharma, perishables and lithium batteries.

"IIAC has demonstrated a very strong commitment to the safe transport and handling of special cargo. Not only is it the first airport community to achieve CEIV Lithium Batteries certification, it is also the only one that has the entire suite of CEIV certifications including pharma and perishables. We congratulate IIAC and its partners on this impressive achievement,” said Philip Goh, IATA’s Regional Vice President for Asia-Pacific.

In a ceremony held in Seoul on 25 May 2023, IATA recognized IIAC for its invaluable support and contributions in bringing together 10 organizations in the Incheon Airport air cargo and logistics community to achieve CEIV Lithium Batteries. CEIV Lithium Batteries certificates were also presented to the participating organizations, which include freight forwarders, ground service providers and airlines.

The 10 companies that received the CEIV Lithium Batteries certificates are: Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, LX Pantos, Schenker Korea, Lotte Global Logistics, Hyundai Glovis, Seoul Air Cargo, Sunjin Logistics, and Swissport Korea.
