Yuli Thompson appointed IATA’s Area Manager for South-East Asia

IATA has appointed Yuli Thompson as IATA’s Area Manager for South-East Asia. She is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Thompson brings to IATA 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. Prior to joining IATA, she worked for Air Asia heading the revenue management function for their Super App development initiative. Before joining Air Asia, Thomson had spent 16 years at Virgin Atlantic Airways in a variety of business functions including distribution, alliances & partnerships, pricing, revenue management as well as sales in London and in Atlanta. Her last held position prior to leaving Virgin to return to Kuala Lumpur in early 2022 was that of Senior Vice President for Revenue Management, Distribution & Holidays, based in London.  

Reporting directly to RVP Asia Pacific, Thompson will oversee all IATA’s activities in the South-East Asia region (excluding Singapore).  The Country Managers in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam will report to her, and she will also directly manage IATA’s office in Malaysia and oversee Brunei as well.
