Restructuration à l’IATA (pdf)

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has been deeply impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. In response, early on IATA froze recruitment, drastically reduced its spending and its senior management took voluntary pay cuts.

On 1 October IATA proposed an organizational restructuring including a headcount reduction of around 22%, which aligns with the scale of job losses that many of its member airlines have announced. This constitutes 400 positions globally. Around half of these are already accounted for through existing unfilled positions and voluntary departures, with the number of layoffs reaching about 200 across IATA’s offices worldwide.

The restructuring will ensure IATA is well-positioned to sustainably support its members as we work towards restarting the aviation industry.

IATA operates in 53 jurisdictions each of which has unique regulations covering restructuring with which IATA will comply.
