In this on-demand webinar, we discuss how new and changing Pre-Loading Advance Cargo Information (PLACI) requirements including EU-ICS2 are impacting the aviation industry. Furthermore, we explain which steps you can take to prepare for compliance.
Effective March 2023, the European Union (EU) will implement the Release 2 of its new “Import Control System” (EU-ICS2) regulations. As a result, all air cargo and mail shipments carried to or via EU Member States will need to comply with EU-ICS2. Non-compliance could result in penalties and even sanctions on carriers and global traders. We recommend starting your preparations early as these changes will require a thorough understanding of this new requirement, updates to your IT systems and business processes, and training of your support staff.
To help you prepare for compliance, IATA has developed the Standard Procedure for PLACI Manual. These guidelines will enable you to improve procedural efficiency and empower your compliance with multiple PLACI requirements, including US-ACAS, UK-PreDICT and Canada's PACT. It also includes a dedicated chapter on EU-ICS2. The Standard Procedure for PLACI Manual is the reference in preparing for compliance.
