United Airlines rolled out a new process globally in its cargo management system (United UC360°) where regulated dangerous goods shipments must be processed through IATA DG AutoCheck before such shipments are confirmed and loaded on a United flight.
"Today we enabled an enhancement that ensures that DG shipments have been successfully checked and completed before manifesting in United UC360. If a DG shipment does not have a checklist completed in IATA DG AutoCheck with a ‘PASS’ response, United UC360 will prevent the shipment from being manifested or loaded via the Flight Prep Workbench." said Tim Smid, Manager Service Execution, United Airlines
UC360° (United Cargo 360°) is the core IT and cargo management system used by United Cargo. It is an adaptation of Mercator's SkyChain platform, integrated to handle cargo operations, bookings, tracking, and revenue accounting.
IATA DG AutoCheck automates the validation of the shipper's declaration for dangerous goods against IATA's Dangerous Goods Regulations, and facilitates the physical inspection of the packages, ensuring the goods are transported safely and efficiently.
