IATA Digital Cargo DLC Forum Defines 2026 Priorities
The 5th Digitalization Leadership Charter (DLC) Forum, organized by IATA Digital Cargo, convened industry leaders in Geneva, Switzerland, on 3 February 2026, to advance large-scale adoption of ONE Record and accelerate practical digital transformation across the air cargo supply chain. Opening the forum, Jonathan Parkinson, Head of Cargo Digitalization at IATA, emphasized the need to move beyond proofs of concept toward coordinated, global implementation supported by stronger alignment across the cargo ecosystem.
Discussions focused on identifying flagship ONE Record use cases, addressing gaps in participation from stakeholder groups that are not yet sufficiently engaged, including ground handlers, freight forwarders beyond the largest global players, cargo IT and platform providers, and e-commerce platforms, and strengthening collaboration with these communities. Participants also emphasized the importance of reinforcing the business case for ONE Record and positioning it as a foundational enabler for future, AI-driven cargo operations.
The forum concluded with agreement to develop practical implementation guidance, activate community-based initiatives, build an industry adoption heat map, and showcase early adopters.
