IATA Aviation Security Management - Advanced aviation training course

The role of an advanced aviation security manager is to locate the optimal proactive processes that produce both the maximum level of security and the optimal combination of the security department in the business. It should allow the organization and the industry the ideal degrees of freedom to function. IATA’s Aviation Security Management - Advanced course focuses on four key areas of interest designed to teach, enrich and develop new ways of thinking. The course focuses on the position of Aviation Security (AVSEC) within the organization and industry; introducing new AVSEC managerial tools and methodologies. It is designed for the security manager who wishes to move to a new personal development stage and acquire new advanced AVSEC and management capabilities.

Prerequisites

  • You should have basic knowledge and experience in management and aviation security.
  • Recommended level is Intermediate.
  • The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 for courses in English or the equivalent level for other languages.

Activities

  • Multiple surveys, group discussions, and group collaborations are embedded throughout the entire week
  • Participants will design a full security program using the final exercises
  • Two micro exercises will support the evolution of the course topics

Certificate awarded

An IATA Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 80% or higher on all exercises and exams. A special distinction is awarded to participant obtaining a grade of 90% or higher.
