ACCA - Transforming Airline Revenue Accounting

Our Perspective

Amidst discussions about the artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities driving the future Offer and Order world, we endeavor to support airlines' retailing strategies by seamlessly integrating order management with revenue accounting, supporting both their immediate goals and long-term ambitions.

What We See

As airlines are innovating in partnerships, sales channels, payment solutions, and other new features, airline revenue accounting departments need to reconcile between different 'orders'. New forms of payment complicate airline payment management, which now requires capabilities including payment order settlement and payment provider settlement. Product innovations also require reconciliation and settlement capabilities for various third-party providers.

Tickets and orders will coexist for a substantial period. With orders gaining prominence, there is an increasing demand for more streamlined revenue accounting solutions tailored to orders. Real-time data enables direct integration of order data into enterprise resource planning systems. However, industry-specific processes like interline hinder airlines from replacing specialized revenue accounting systems.

Financial data is invaluable and will form the foundation of all business decision-making in a world of full offers and orders, including dynamic offers. Consequently, airline revenue accounting departments have started to invest in building data capabilities and data analytic solutions.

What We Do

 

Through extensive engagement with our customers, we have understood their preference for leveraging current assets during the transitioning to an order-centric revenue accounting system, aiming to minimize disruption and complexity. We recognized the value of a unified process, system, and revenue data governance structure, in collaboration with Chinese airlines to develop a next-generation order-based Retailing Revenue Accounting Platform.

We leverage cloud computing, big data analytics, and utilize AI and ML technologies to assist airlines in seamlessly integrating traditional, ticketless, and order-based models into a cohesive storage infrastructure. Our approach enables the management of real-time settlements across diverse retail scenarios involving multiple third-party providers. Facilitating rapid expansion to new products through modular deployment, and offers airlines deep, strategic insights for their decision-making processes.

We will continue our commitment to supporting airlines in retail transformation, transcending traditional industry boundaries to facilitate the creation of innovative revenue streams for airlines.
