Today marks the official opening of the new King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED). This airport is considered one of the largest of its kind worldwide. With beautiful architecture, state of the art facilities sitting on 800,000 square meters and 46 contact gates to service domestic and international destinations, it’s no wonder the new JED airport is turning heads.

This new Saudia Airlines hub has an initial capacity of 30 million passengers per annum, which could be scaled up to 43 million as part of the phase II expansion and ultimately 80 million passengers by 2035. The airport has nearly 30,000 square meters of retail and F&B facilities. And in case you were wondering about getting around, the airport has an integrated high-speed rail and road transport center to enable seamless passenger transit. JED is a sophistacated and innovative infrastructure that is sure to enhance the passenger experience.

Aviation is a key enabler for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, and JED is an example of the Kingdom's priority for the air transport industry.
