Today marks the official opening of the new King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED). This airport is considered one of the largest of its kind worldwide. This new Saudia Airlines hub has an initial capacity of 30 million passengers per annum, which could be scaled up to 43 million as part of the phase II expansion and ultimately 80 million passengers by 2035. The airport has nearly 30,000 square meters of retail and F&B facilities. And in case you were wondering about getting around, the airport has an integrated high-speed rail and road transport center to enable seamless passenger transit.
