With its ancient monuments and bustling neighborhoods blending unassumingly with images of a vibrant and contemporary cosmopolitan metropolis, the Indian capital of New Delhi is a fascinating travel destination. Set along the banks of the Yamuna River, nearly 1,000-year-old Delhi offers a fascinating mosaic of sights, both past and present. While the ancient monuments pay tribute to the elegant aging of centuries-old Delhi, the modern components reaffirm that the capital is the heart of Indian democracy and can keep pace with the world's most progressive metropolises.
A stroll through Old Delhi is an unforgettable experience as you can sample some of the oldest recipes dating back to the Mughal era and immerse yourself in the mainly ethnic culture while discovering exquisite handicrafts, wholesale goods and customized jewelry.
