Build Confidence in Digital Identity and Contactless Travel

As the aviation industry advances toward a more seamless and digital passenger experience, organizations are increasingly implementing digitalization of admissibility and contactless travel to enhance operational efficiency, improve the passenger journey and support regulatory compliance.

The IATA One ID Certification provides an independent assessment and certification framework designed to evaluate an organization's implementation of One ID processes, controls, governance frameworks and system capabilities against established IATA requirements.

The certification enables organizations to demonstrate conformity with the IATA One ID Certification requirements and provide assurance to customers, partners and stakeholders that their business process and technical capabilities have been independently assessed against recognized industry standards.

The program is applicable to organizations involved in the management and operation of digital identity and biometric solutions within the aviation ecosystem, including airlines, airports and technology providers.

Be supported every step of your One ID Certification journey

The IATA Certification process is designed to support organizations throughout their certification journey while ensuring the consistent and objective evaluation of conformity with certification requirements.

  • Self-assessment
The organization conducts a self-assessment using the certification checklist to evaluate readiness and identify potential gaps prior to the formal assessment.
  • On-site or remote assessment
An IATA assessor reviews the organization's documented policies, procedures, governance arrangements, and supporting evidence to prepare for the assessment.
The assessment includes the evaluation of applicable processes, controls, governance arrangements, operational practices, system capabilities, and supporting evidence.
Assessment activities may include document reviews, interviews, demonstrations, and observation of operational processes.
  • Corrective actions and validation
Where findings are identified, the organization develops and implements corrective actions. Evidence is reviewed and validated by the assessor prior to certification.
Upon successful completion of the assessment process, IATA issues the One ID Certification confirming conformity with the applicable certification requirements.
  • Certification
Organizations that successfully achieve IATA One ID Certification are recognized as having demonstrated conformity with the applicable requirements of the IATA One ID Certification Program within their certified scope.
  • Re-certification
The IATA One ID Certification is valid for two years. Organizations seeking to maintain certification must successfully complete a re-certification assessment prior to certificate expiry.
