IATA Airspace Security and Risk Assessment aviation training course

IATA’s Airspace Security and Risk Assessment course offers a comprehensive three-day program focused on managing airspace risks in civil aviation, particularly over or near conflict zones. You will cover the foundations of conflict zones, airspace risk assessment, and learn to gather, validate, and apply information following ICAO and IATA guidelines. You will learn to identify potential threats, gather and validate information, and conduct thorough threat assessments. The course emphasizes integrating risk assessments with existing Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Security Management Systems (SeMS), identifying hazards, and applying risk controls. Governance structures and continuous improvement practices will be emphasized, highlighting the importance of regular reviews and updates of risk assessments, along with the development and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The course concludes with governance and communication frameworks, equipping participants to manage airspace security risks and ensure high safety standards in aviation operations.

Prerequisites

  • Recommended level is Intermediate and Advanced
  • The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 or the equivalent for courses held in languages other than English.
